PRC ID Renewal and Change of Status in Davao....

I had just done the renewing process and change of status, it took me about 3 - 4 hours processing. I thought I could claim my new  Professional  ID after few weeks but OMG, but they instructed me to follow up after 8 months. Yes, as in 8 months. I ask them if there are ways to lessen the number of months but they said "no way that's the minimum time, it will be 8 months to 1 year". I also ask at the cashier after paying but the Cashier said it would be possibly 10 months after that I could get my PRC ID, since I also filed for Change of Status. I don't know why it took that long, changing the status and printing new ID.  If I can get of my new ID after or at almost 1 year, it's seems I can only get use my  Professional  ID for 2 years before it again expires?

Anyway for those who will be renewing their licenses, I'll give you the procedures, steps and the requirements you needed to prepare:

For Renewal:

PRC Requirement:

2. 2 pcs. passport size ID picture
3. Photocopy of recent  Professional  ID.
4. Certificate of Good standing from IECEP.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Procedure :

1. You must first get a Certificate of Good Standing from the IECEP office.

The IECEP office here in Davao is located inside RF COM Electronics infront of Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (Central Bank of the Philippines) along Quirino Avenue.

Before you could get your Certificate you must first pay the Annual Renewal of Membership Fee which amounted to P 350.00/year. If you had paid the membership fee only during when you take an oath after you passed the board exam, since it is required to pay to attend the oath taking ceremony, then start to count from one (1) year after the oath taking until the present year and they will require you to pay until year 2014. Additional fee is for the ID which is P 150.00. And they will tell you that the IECEP ID will be released about 3 months or something, I forgot the exact number of months but it's quite long, since they will be sending the forms to IECEP National and IECEP National would print the IDs and be sent back here in Davao, I don't know but I think that's it. I will give you a sample computation to be clear:

Example :

 * You paid the membership fee only during the oath taking as it is required:

Date of Examination : April 2000
Date of Oath Taking : May 2000

no. of years = 2014 - 2001
no. of years = 13

Renewal fee = 350/year * 13 years = P 4, 450.00
ID Cost = P 150.00

Total Amount to be paid = P 4, 700.00

So be prepare a lot of money before you plan to renew your  Professional  ID, especially for those who live in the land far, far away to lessen the stress, your effort and the time you consume of going to and fro from your homeland.

Then the office secretary of IECEP will let you fill up 2 identical Membership forms, then since the certificate was already preprinted and presigned and presealed, the secretary will just handwrite your name on the certificate then VIOLA! You have the certificate already.

2. Proceed to PRC for the Renewal
- be sure to be there early, I recommend you to be there falling in line before 8 o'clock in the morning and be sure to have your black pen always in handy since you will be doing a lot of writing filling the forms and bring water to keep you hydrated since it's a kind of warm in there, and snacks since PRC followed a 'no noon break policy'.

2.1. Go to Door 9 Ground floor, ask the security guard on duty to where that Door 9 is.
2.2. At Door 9, Fall in line in the customer service to get the forms and priority number, the customer service personnel will just ask you for what forms you wanted and what profession are you in, then if you have no passport-sized ID picture, he/she will ask you to pay  P 80.00 for the passport size ID, in case you don't have. If you paid for the ID, go to step 2.3. If not, skip 2.3.
2.3. Proceed to the PRC Canteen, for ID picture taking, then wait for a minute while they print your picture you may proceed to fill up your forms.
2.4. Proceed to 2nd floor, Door #3, and wait for your number to be displayed in the counter. While waiting, there are glue available at the back portion of the room, glue your picture in the upper right of the form, and just hold the other ID picture.
2.5. Once your number is called, go to the window you are assigned as displayed, then give your documents, then they will going to staple the other picture near the picture you glued.
2.6. They will check your documents and form, then write the amount you have to pay (P 450.00) and inform you the number of months you will be back for the follow up or you may call them.
2.7. Go to cashier to pay, this will take you long for falling in a long line.
2.8. After that, you will be given a claim stub by the cashier after paying. Done!

If the photocopying machine at the 2nd floor Door 1 customer service is working, then you are lucky enough. (In my case, I have to go down the highway and look for the nearby photocopier, that was in front of the Convenience Store, and when I arrived the line is long enough, but I have no choice but to wait for my time.)
 8. They will check your documents and form, then write the amount you have to pay (P 450.00) + statutory fee  (P 225.00) and inform you the number of months (in my case 8 months) you will be back for the follow up or you may call them. [ Total = P 675.00].
